Alejandro Estévez is one of the top Spanish 800 metres runners during the last decade. He has been national champion in all minor categories, also achieving in 2009 the bronze medal in the FOJE and being finalist in the European U20 and U23 Championships the following years.
In 2013 he achieved his best place until now in an Spanish Championship being fourth outdoor in Alcobendas and fifth indoor in Sabadell.
His good performance as a 400m runner (he has a PB of 47.26) has also allowed him to proclaim Spanish Champion and three-time runner-up in 4x400m with the Playas de Castellón team, in addition to giving him a powerful final sprint.
In 2019 he represented Spain at the European Games in Minsk (Belarus) where he participated in the new mixed relay with which the competition was resolved.
