Andrea Romero was born in Granada but has lived all her life in Formentera, where she started running when she was only 5 years old. As she didn't have an athletics track, she had to train on a soccer field and on the island's roads, which has allowed her to compete better in cross-country events than on the track so far.
In 2019 she moved to Valencia to train with José Antonio Redolat and begin to improve her performance on the track, which led her to be Spanish U20 Champion in 1500 meters and also continue to add international experiences in cross country, representing the Spanish team in the European Cross Country Championships in Samorin 2017 and Lisbon 2019 as U20 and Dublin 2021 as U23.
In her last year as U23, she won all the national titles, winning cross country, 3000 meters indoor and 5000 meters outdoor.
