The athlete from Madrid José Ignacio Pérez Camino is one of the greatest emerging talents of the Spanish middle-distance. Successfully alternate the 800 and 1500 meters events, having already proclaimed Spanish champion in both distances at the age of 18, although for now he is more settle in the double lap.
In his first international experience he reached the final in the European U18 Championships held in Gyór (Hungary) in 2018. The following year he returned to compete in the great continental event that took place in Boras (Sweden), this time in his first year in the U20 category, being eliminated in the semifinals.
He set the Spanish U18 indoor record in 800m with 1:51.43, previously in possession of Manuel Olmedo.
After being under the supervision of Javier Verdejo and the international triple jumper Patricia Sarrapio, he has started a new stage with Pedro García as trainer while continues growing in the U23 category.
