Yurena Hueso

The middle-distance runner from Valencia, Yurena Hueso, has been growing gradually as athlete until becoming one of the best Spanish 800m runners of her generation.

In 2019 she made herself known by winning in the women's 800 meters of the Iberoamerican Meeting in Huelva ahead of some of the best national specialists, pulverizing her previous personal best. Then she razed at the Spanish U23 Championship in her first year in the category and was fifth at the outdoor Nationals.

2022 has been another turning point for Yurena, as she reached the podium in a Spanish senior championship for the first time.

She has already made her first steps in the 1500 meters that she will probably combine in the near future on with what has been her usual event until now, guided by who was precisely European Indoor Champion in the mythical distance: José Antonio Redolat.
