Zakaria Boufaljat

Zakaria Boufaljat was born in Morocco but has settled in Huelva since he arrived in Spain when he was 7, and after a few years playing soccer and participating in some races sporadically in Cartaya, he began to opt for athletics when he arrived in Huelva capital to start university, from the hand of local coach Manuel Pulido.

In 2019 his dedication to training increased considerably, which led him to be 4th at the Spanish U23 Cross Country Championship and also in the 5000 meters, and two years later he achieved 12th place in the Cross Country Nationals, already in senior category.

After more than 15 years in Spain, in 2021 he obtained the Spanish nationality that enables him to be selected for the Spanish team and opt for medals in national championships, something that will come soon due to his promising evolution that already places him among the best long-distance runners in the country.
